Continuing the exploration in the encounter between the accessible city and the one under construction, its aftermaths and possibilities, immediately after closing “antipodes café DEG15” we opened a temporary store with fresh memories of the project right in front of where it was located, in a quite new office building with empty rooms in ground floor.
This rooms, future retail stores, remark the thickness of this encounter, and turns the accessible belt of buildings called Barcode as part of this encounter which is not just a thin abstract line drawn with fences but a thick and constant detouring situation.
All those who works, resides and visit this area, who did not cross the street towards the intervention now could get a group of remainders of what was all that about. A fast nostalgi proper of social networks times highlighting the life on a temporary as invisible vulnerable space.
A receptionist, with barely enough information about the whole project welcomed visitors and presented all this rests. Artworks and objects from the project far ahead from their original function and context, treated now as souvenirs, like debris from a wall, or clumps of grass from a football stadium.
In addition to those souvenirs, here was launched the product “antipodes café DEG15 – special edition“, and a serie of postcards soon to be spread in town.
